Patricia Pinkett seeks divorce after 17 years of marriage to Jada Pinkett's brother

Caleeb Pinkett, the brother of Jada Pinkett Smith, is currently going through a divorce.

On October 16th, Caleeb’s wife, Patricia Pinkett, filed for divorce in Los Angeles as confirmed by court documents obtained by PEOPLE. 

Having been married since 2006, the couple officially separated in February 2020, as indicated in the court documents. 

The reason for the split cited by Patricia was “irreconcilable differences.”

Caleeb, a renowned actor and producer, shares an 11-year-old daughter, Caila Koren Pinkett, with Patricia.

In her filing, Patricia has requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, in addition to spousal support from Caleeb. She has also asked the court to disallow Caleeb from receiving spousal support.

It is notable that Patricia had a close relationship with Jada and her family. In a previous Instagram post, she shared a selfie with Jada, expressing deep gratitude and love for her.

Notably, Sheree Zampino, Will Smith’s ex-wife, who shares a son with him, interacted with Patricia on social media earlier in the year.

It’s worth mentioning that news of Caleeb’s impending divorce surfaced shortly after Jada mentioned in an interview on the Today show that she and her husband, Will, have been separated for seven years.
